Long Neck Lair Alpaca Farm Night 2

Day 48, Tuesday, 5/3 – I sat outside the alpaca farm all morning updating the blog. This is my first time staying at a farm. The farm itself is located in Virginia hills, and the grounds are filled with cats, roosters, hens, and the alpacas. All the animals just seem to lounge about. They’re only ever eating or laying down. Everything about this place gives off a very laid back vibe. It was a great place to spend the morning writing.

After the parents had breakfast, they picked up Martin and myself and brought us to the Grayson Highlands. I wanted to show the family the area with the wild ponies. We went for a short hike, and didn’t see ponies at first. As we were about to leave, we happened to see a pony running in the distance. We wandered over and sure enough saw two ponies grazing along the trail. It was a 45 minute drive from the farm to the Grayson Highlands, so I’m glad we didn’t drive all that way and not see any ponies.

When we got back to the farm, we went into Marion for dinner. Dillan, Sprite, Parkour, Jetpack, Mom, Dad, Martin, and I all ate at the Wooden Pickle. It was a great dinner and I’m glad the folks got to meet Parkour and Jetpack! Dad had Parkour laughing at all his jokes, which I would have put money on happening.
