Harpers Ferry Along the Potomac Night 2

Day 81, Sunday, 6/5 – My right heel didn’t have any major flare ups this morning. It’s a promising sign considering how lousy it felt this time yesterday. Genie, Splitzy, and Birthday Sandwich hiked on this morning. Even though I felt better, I took it easy today and stay in town. Half Time also stayed in town today, he was clearly sick with something. We’re guessing it’s strep throat.

Half Time and I headed over to Battleground Coffee for a late breakfast and to charge electronics. We hung out there for a long while. We then hitch hiked our way over to the 7/11. Half Time needed to get some medicine.

We left the 7/11, and spent the afternoon at the ATC. It was a fun place to spend the afternoon, all thru hikers stop at the ATC, so we saw hikers that we haven’t seen in a while. Story Time’s parents walked in, and I chatted with them for a bit. Shortly after, Story Time & Shade both came in. I haven’t seen Story Time in well over a month.

Half Time and I then grabbed pizza, ice cream, and then set up camp along the Potomac again. Supposedly, we aren’t allowed to camp here. But, there’s a fire ring where we’re camping, so it’ll be easy to claim ignorance if needed.

Harpers Ferry is a very neat town. There is a lot of history associated with the Civil War. Most notably, John Brown’s Raid occurred in Harpers Ferry, which was a slave revolt just before the Civil War.
