Broadway’s Bungalow Night 2

Day 104, Tuesday, 6/28 – I slept in this morning, and I needed it. The past few days of hiking took it out of me. Broadway had bought breakfast ingredients for us, and started cooking pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I was on bacon duty.

After breakfast, we essentially turned Broadway’s apartment into an indoor spa. We were all stretching, foam rolling, massaging sore muscles, soaking feet in epsom salt baths, and drinking hot tea. It was a much needed recovery.

I was also able to get some chores done during the day. I washed my sleeping pad, which was starting to smell real bad from sweat. The hiker smell has been harder to manage now that temperatures are higher.

Didgeridoo was in town, and decided to stop by and say hi before getting on trail. I thought he was ahead of us on trail, but he said he had already taken four zeros, which explains how we caught up to him.

Genie, Splitzy, Broadway, Birthday, Didgeridoo and I took the shuttle to Hells Kitchen and got a meal at DimSum Palace. When I have the option, I like getting foods that I would not be able to find on trail.

We left the restaurant, got boba tea, and walked over to Times Square. Broadway, Birthday, Didgeridoo, and I then walked through Central Park on our way back to her apartment in Harlem. By this time Didgeridoo decided to not hike out, making this his 5th zero in a row.

Broadway lives next to a McDonalds, so we stopped in for a meal and McFlurries. We took the food back home and watched a documentary about SpaceX.
