Day 106, Thursday, 6/30 – I started my morning by taking the subway down to Bryant Park to meet with my cousin Katherine! She treated me to coffee & a bagel with lox. We chatted for a while, it’s always nice catching up with family.

I walked from Bryant Park to Union Square. I love visiting Union Square because a handful of folks are always set up with chess boards. Chess is great because it brings people together regardless of socioeconomic or cultural background.

I found an empty seat, and played a game with June. We played a casual game without a clock and I won. Karl was sitting next to June and called me over when the game was over. I played a handful of games with Karl and lost them all, but they were good games and I enjoyed myself.
It was 2pm when I was finished playing chess. I was hungry and looking for something else to do when Splitzy texted me. Splitzy and Genie were hanging out with Southbound a mile away from Union Square. We hung out at a few bars, I grabbed another bagel with lox, and we stopped for pizza by the slice. I also had a chance to resupply food.

I took the subway home, and hung out with Broadway, Didgeridoo, and Half Time. We watched a serial killer documentary and Broadway gave us all manicures/pedicures. Even Half Time participated!

Half Time and Didgeridoo decided to take another zero tomorrow. Genie and Splitzy started to get convinced to stay another night too. Birthday, who was still out on the town at midnight, was told that another zero was in the cards. It didn’t take much for Birthday to be convinced to take another zero. I feel like 3 zeros is enough and I need to get back on trail. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
