Day 134, Thursday, 7/28 – I woke up at 3:30am this morning, which was an hour earlier than I needed to start waking up. Also, my headlamp had broken a while back, so I couldn’t start packing up even if I wanted to. By about 4:45am, it was light enough for me to pack up. I was the first one out of camp, and hiked out alone around 5:15am.

I climbed to the top of South Kinsman Mountain. It’s another peak above 4,000ft. It was a beautiful hike, and we the summit was gorgeous. I sat down when I got to the top, and had the whole peak to myself for about 20 minutes. I just took in the views and enjoyed the moment.

I then hiked from South Kinsman to North Kinsman, found a viewing ledge, and laid out for a little while. Again, I had it all to myself.
I hiked down from the peaks with Guru G. Guru G is typically reserved, but he really opened up on the hike. We hiked 2 miles to the Lonesome Lake Hut.
The huts offer overnight lodging for a small fortune, but they also cater to thru hikers. We showed up at 10:00am, and there was leftover breakfast. For $5, I had a large plate of eggs, sausage, a pancake, and oatmeal. There are a few more huts scattered along the AT in the White Mountains that I have to look forward to.
Birthday, Aqua, Splitzy, and Genie caught up with me at the hut, and we all sat inside for a while. Father Time was sitting with us and bought a loaf of homemade bread for the table.
We then hiked down from the hut to the road into Lincoln. Broadway, who unfortunately is off trail due to foot injury, met up with us at the trail head.
We drove to downtown Lincoln, grabbed drinks, and ate food at a local brewery. We then headed over to the grocery store to resupply and get ingredients for breakfast and dinner.
We got to our airbnb, showered up, and got laundry started. We threw on Tarzan because we were jamming to Phil Collins on the drive over.
Genie and Splitzy cooked up a huge, delicious fajita dinner. Yard Sale, Laura, and their kiddos met back up with us for dinner. We all ate together and then had banana pudding that Birthday and I made up.
