Uptah Broadway’s Camp Night 1

Day 149, Friday, 8/12 – It was a cold night last night. I woke up at midnight, then didn’t fall back into a deep sleep. I was continuously readjusting in the hammock to avoid cold spots for the remainder of the night. I finally got up at 6:00am, and felt rested enough. Birthday and I hiked out a bit before 7:00am and hiked an easy 6 miles to ME Route 26 (mile 2006).

Broadway’s family has a cabin 1 mile off trail at ME Route 26, and she graciously let us crash for a couple nights!

Birthday and I got to the road and started to hitch. After a couple minutes, Birthday checked his phone and saw that he got a text from Dogfish. Dogfish knew we would be at the cabin and made a surprise visit! She picked us up from the road, and brought us back to the cabin where she had some breakfast taquitos made up for us.

Aqua, Genie, and Splitzy showed up a couple hours later. We all got showered up, did laundry, and laid out all of our wet gear to dry out. We then went into town to resupply food.

In the evening, Dogfish made dinner. She made us beef dumplings, beef potstickers, Mapo tofu, broccoli with garlic sauce, and sausage fried rice. We finished the night with ice cream and Austin Powers In Goldmember.
