Rod Hollow Shelter

Day 78, Thursday, 6/2 – We all had one last breakfast at Mountain Home before getting back on trail.

It was forecasted to rain on and off all day, but the storm must have just missed us. I heard rolling thunder all afternoon, and it sounded close, but we didn’t end up getting rained on all day.

I hiked 23 miles to Rod Hollow Shelter (mile 995). Once I got to camp, it started raining. It just so happened that this shelter had a picnic table under a canopy, so we were able to eat dinner and hang out without getting rained on. Just before everyone retired for the night, we moved the picnic table out of the way, and I set up my hammock.

We did some photo sharing at the B&B, so here are some more photo highlights from the Shenandoah’s!
