Day 110, Monday, 7/4 – I woke up at 1am, and didn’t feel like I slept well. I tossed and turned for the rest of the night. I finally woke up, checked my phone, and it was 7:00am already. I was surprised I slept in, all things considered. I packed up and was hiking by 8:00am.
I walked the mile to Bulls Bridge Country Store for hot coffee and to top off my food bag. Fudge Stripe, Gandalf, Survivor, Bob, Wasabi, and Paul were drinking coffee at the picnic tables out front. I grabbed a cup and joined them. I miss having hot coffee everyday. It was 10:30am by the time I grabbed food and started hiking again.

My hiking was slow today. It was hot and there were some steep hills, so I was taking a lot of breaks. Despite the struggle, I had a great day and was in a great mood.

Towards the end of the hike, there was a 5 mile flat stretch of trail along the Housatonic River.

I hiked 19 miles to Silver Hill Campsite (Mile 1481). I made dinner and ate with Wizard, Swag Man, Loose Leaf, Lentil, and Leap Frog. I made ramen for dinner, and mixed in a spoonful of peanut butter. It’s an amazing combo that I haven’t tried before tonight, but will definitely be repeating.
